If you are looking for adventure, you've come to the right place.
How's this for excitement? From October 26 through November 3, we sent the Copernicus Adventure Team halfway across the world, to the tiny islands of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in the Pacific Ocean, near Guam.
We set them loose with a camera and a computer to record their daily adventures exploring, investigating, and scuba diving in the FSM state of Chuuk.
Are you wondering what they sent back? How about:
on-the-spot accounts of scuba diving in an eerie coral-covered "underwater graveyard" of WWII ships and planes; |
video footage of Chuukese high-schoolers singing their school song; |
photos of Chuukese children, houses, traditional art, and Pacific island views; and |
a room-by-room tour of the USS Bowfin submarine, docked in Pearl Harbor. |
Although the trip is over, you can still share in the adventure. Browse daily journal entries to get the scoop firsthand from Tom and Karen Karnuta, the Adventure Team leaders.
